Focus for the Month of February

3 things to focus on this month – things beginning with “F”

  1. February is FABulous! It’s fabulous for several reasons –
  • It’s a short month so things need to be done FASTER – hop to it everyone just like the FIRE rooster! Don’t let life admin takeover – book your classes for the month ahead so you don’t miss out on your wellbeing and fitness time.
  • A short month is the perfect time for creating great new habits, eg “I have 28 days to practice and be my best at … Reformer Knee Stretches, Yoga Dragon pose, Boxilates Jab Jab Hook Upper cut, or the Grand Battement in Barre Attack.
  • Establish your FAB routine with regular reformer and yoga classes, then sprinkle that extra spice with Barre Attack and Boxilates.
  • Want to change some eating habits? Start now, today in fact – it’s a short month so the perfect time of year to set your goal to eliminate *FFF* from your diet by the 28th. Or simply to take a break from that food or beverage. Here is the link to a great charitable initiative to get you motivated.

Month Fab Feb

  1. Footwork – it’s simple, it’s challenging, it begins with F. Many of you know I love starting, ending and slotting somewhere in the middle of a program, the Pilates Footwork series. Its simplicity allows the body and mind to become centred on the reformer, gives us time to return to our breath and appreciate the importance it has in the workout. It is both challenging to our legs (without doubt) as well as our stabilising muscles – the deep abs, the butt and the inner thigh. It’s a winner, an all-time Favourite!

  1. Foot on Bar – FOB for short. Also known in pigeon English as “Fire on Butt!” Loved by most, FOB is one of those Pilates Reformer exercises that can bring tears to the eyes and joy to the lycra lover’s heart at the same time. Lying on your side, top heel to the edge of the footbar, a slight twerk and skewered hip, press away from the footbar and shazam your glutes will light up the studio.
