Stay on track this Christmas and New Year Holiday

FAB tips for staying on track over the Christmas and New Year holiday

The holiday silly season is upon us and another fabulous 366 days of Pilates and Yoga about to end. We’ve worked so hard on the reformer, on the mat, at the barre and with the gloves on this year it would be a shame to ‘let it all go to waste’ over Christmas. Here’s what we’re thinking will keep us motivated into 2017…

  • Move – keep moving guys – take a walk along the river or make use of the bike paths while the roads are quiet.

A few of my favourite exercises you can do at home or on the beach if you can’t get into the studio are

  • Abdominal and Oblique curls
  • Single Leg Stretch
  • 4 Point Kneeling Arm and Leg extensions
  • Plank
  • Clam Series

I’ll be posting these on Instagram and Facebook so look out for them!

  • EAT and eat well – Holidays are a time for eating and drinking the yummy things – we know! Be sure to get plenty of good food and cleansing water into your body to balance the goodies and gremlins. I made a quick search online and came up with Curtis Stone’s healthy Christmas recipes. Take a look at –

And the Australian Health Food guide has some really yummy treat foods. There’s also ideas on what to eat to stay calm –

One of our FABulous yoga instructors Bec made some really delicious and healthy bliss balls that everyone will love – dates, almonds, vanilla and a pinch of salt – blend it all together and roll it into balls – voila!

  • Be forgiving of yourself – if you choose the chocolate coated almonds over the walnuts. If you decide to laze by the pool reading a magazine instead of going on a trail run, forgive yourself. Take advantage of your opportunity to embrace ‘down time’. A great time of the year to catch a nap – check out Marian’s “Yoga to Help You Sleep” on our Facebook page.
  • Book your classes for the Christmas period NOW. We’ll help you commit to your workouts over the holidays – book in now!
