Fusion : (also called synthesis) is the process of combining two or more distinct entities into a new whole.
Let’s clarify our definition of fabulous fusion. The fabulous fusion we refer to is providing you with the opportunity to experience both Yoga and Pilates under the one roof – that in itself is fabulous!
Why have we created a space where you can do both Pilates and Yoga? What are the benefits of participating in both forms of exercise? Who did we have in mind when we created this space?
Without wanting to oversimplify things …
Pilates = strength, core and mobility
Yoga = strength, flexibility and focus
As Pilates and Yoga teachers, on a daily basis we observe how people move. In our Yoga classes we notice people have difficulty connecting with their core. In Pilates we see degrees of inflexibility. By providing Yoga and Pilates under the one roof we have created a comfortable environment that exposes you to both.
Yoga and Pilates operate well individually and in conjunction with one another. Integrating both into your weekly program gives your body the opportunity to function at its very best. It achieves this by developing strength on two levels – Core (functional) and physical. To achieve optimum body function we also need to challenge the mind. Again, in two ways – Pilates – we re-educate the brain to initiate muscular contraction. In Yoga, the mental challenge is internal focus.
In our teaching over the years we’ve found not every form of exercise is suited to every person, or even good for them. We want everybody to be able to exercise. We truly believe we have created that comfortable, safe environment. For us it’s all about making exercise accessible to everyone, achieving your personal best (whatever that may be), and most importantly, let’s have some fun!
